About My Work
My work is influenced by 20th century English and Japanese pottery. I believe there is beauty in function and my pots are made to be used. I decorate my pots with oxide washes, wax and slips. My favorite forms are tall bottles and pitchers that hopefully have a bit of presence in the room. I try to make pots that are honest and don't look labored.
In addition to making pots, I have a strong interest in glaze chemistry. I design and mix the glazes I use at Indigo Fire Studio. My pottery is almost entirely cone 6 stoneware, but my hope is that the glaze colors and surfaces might have you thinking otherwise.
